Speciality fertilizer producer awarded Soil Association licence
PRESS RELEASE: A leading supplier of high quality speciality fertilizers to the commercial grower has achieved Soil Association certification.
Sussex-based Solufeed - which manufactures water soluble
fertilizers and chelated micronutrients - has had three of its
fertilizer products certified for use in organic systems.
The products, with licence number AL04202, are :
- Solufeed 6-5-10 + 4%MgO - a granular
fertilizer for use in peat based organic composts, also ideal as an
autumn/winter turf fertiliser due to it's high potash
content;
- Solufeed 9-3-3 - a fine grade fertilizer for
use in coir and green waste composts. Suitable for spring
and summer use on fine turf as it will not scorch and there is
minimal leaching of the nutrients;
- Solufeed 4-4-4 + 2%MgO - a granular
fertilizer manufactured from vegetal raw materials
only and ideal as a base or top dressing particularly for slow
growing plants; recommended for use on watercress.
The process took around 9 months and involved providing
supporting documentation and a series of inspections.
The Soil Association inspects and awards organic certification
to farms and businesses that meet its stringent organic
standards. The Soil Association logo - which will now appear
on Solufeed's approved fertilizer labels and promotional material -
gives recognition that the products now meet stringent
standards. It is the UK's largest organic certification body
and responsible for certifying over 80 per cent of all organic
products sold in the UK.
Dick Holden, Managing Director of Solufeed Ltd said : "We are
delighted to have qualified for such a well regarded and
internationally recognised organic standard. Such
certification confirms our ethos of protecting the environment and
producing fertilizers that improve and support it."
